Week 1, Day 1: The Books of the Law – Foundations of God’s Story

Today’s focus is on the first three chapters of Genesis, where God’s plan for redemption is set in motion from the very beginning. Key Scripture: Joshua 1:8 (NIV): “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Genesis 1-3: The creation, the fall of humanity, and the first glimpse of redemption. In Genesis 2:15-17, how does God's command to Adam shape your understanding of the relationship between God’s laws and human responsibility? How does the promise of redemption in Genesis 3:15 shape your understanding of God’s ultimate rescue plan through Jesus? As you read Genesis 1-3, how do you see the foundations of God’s covenant with His people beginning to take shape? How does this give you greater confidence in God’s unfolding story of redemption throughout Scripture? Action Steps: Read Genesis 1-3: Take time to read and reflect on these foundational chapters and how they point to Jesus. Meditate on Joshua 1:8: Consider how this verse challenges you to keep God’s Word on your lips and in your heart as you go through this study. Journal Your Thoughts: Write down how these early chapters of Genesis help you understand the bigger picture of God’s plan for redemption and your personal role in His story.
