K-E-E-P-S dot com slash footballers. To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright. Ahhh! Welcome in!
Friday, September 10th. That was a game. Yes it was! Welcome into the Fantasy Footballers.
I'm still glowing. Jason Moore, Mike Wright. So many points. Andy Holloway.
Oh, much fun. Mm. I'm not sure the NFL could have asked for something better than what they got last night. That was storylines, a plenty competitive game, an exciting game.
Had it all, man. If your name wasn't Ronald Jones, you had a great night. Right. Greg's early on had a great night.
He finally hit it. Well, Fantasy purposes. This is what I'm saying. This game had it all.
Just real life excitement. Coming down to the wire. Can Tom Brady actually do it again? Which he did.
Fantasy points a plenty. And yet, full on Fantasy Tiltz already from people who drafted Mike Evans and Zeke. I'm sorry if you're dealing with that on your roster. But just for fantasy football to be back and have every single facet of the game encapsulated in a primetime island game for everyone to watch.
It was so much fun. How does Tom Brady not have the top five seasons with those weapons? Injury. Age.
Maybe he dies a whole page. I don't know. I was trying to use my imagination last night to visualize what it would be like to watch Tom Brady regress on the field. And my imagination couldn't do it.
I couldn't see the big play. You know where the arm dies off. It's going to be hard. One of the things.
And he just walks away on top at some point. Yeah, one of the things that we hate. He's like, I don't have it anymore. I'm out of here.
I just can't see. I can't see him not producing to just an incredible degree. The honest to answer that question would be that he is old and this is week one. He's fresh.
He's ready to go. If somehow. He got better last year over the second. I'm just I'm just he wasn't as old as he was now.
Sure. I'm just trying to figure it out. Terrible argument. Arm fatigue.
He's not going to play the Cowboys every week. Yeah, that's a big part of the Cowboys. Cowboys don't ever change. Oh, seriously.
I absolutely love the fact that we can count on you to need to throw a lot of points on the board. It's fantastic. Well, and they're not inversely they're not going to play Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski every week either. Sure.
They're not going to play the Super Bowl champions on the road. You know, so it was. Tampa couldn't stop anybody either. I mean, Tampa's secondary got beat up, got picked apart, the Cowboys threw the ball constantly.
I mean, you needed to keep Zeke in to block against this pass rush. He did a great job doing that. I am fully on board with what Jason said last week, which is go get Zeke from skittish owners. Yes, he still play.
He was the guy. I get it. Tony Pollard was used more than you had hoped if you drafted Zeke, but it really wasn't that much. It wasn't.
Especially in the second half. It felt like a lot because when because Pollard got touches, but Zeke was still in for the vast majority of the season for 73% of the snaps. He ran 44 routes. He was super involved except they weren't running the ball in the past.
I couldn't go his way. And it was smart to not run the ball because their defensive line was better than their offensive line, especially missing their all pro left guard. So we saw this coming. We talked about this before the game.
If you're the Zeke owner, just calm down, take your lumps, do not trade him. If you're not, go make a trade offer for Zeke. I would. I think he's going to have a great season.
He didn't look bad to me. No, just start the game. His runs look great. He looked svelte and ready to go.
You would have hoped that he could have handled the, yes, Blake Jarwin missed the block, but. The touchdown opportunity. Yeah, the touchdown opportunity, but Zeke should have made that the defender miss. All right.
We do have a jam-packed show. We have nine matchups to get into some news. Big time news to talk about. Also, Antonio Brins, I have to.
Also, Mario Cooper is great. Pivot my start of the week of running back momentarily. Oh, no, no, Andy, we're running high right now. I know.
You can bring us back up. Here we go. It's Friday. Foot Clan Friday.
Why not celebrate 9,552 targets with a free jersey? So this week, like every week, we have a Friday giveaway for our supporters to join the foot.com. This week's item from pristine auction.com is in a Mari Cooper sign jersey and it goes to Chase L. Chase L.
That's GLL. Is that Superman's brother? Oh, like Al L? Yeah, I like it.
Thank you. pristine auction.com is code ballers. Get a $10 credit congratulations, Chase. Oh, and your victory will have another giveaway next week.
We just got into the Thursday night recap. Antonio Brown was great. I mean, I don't want it to be lost that Godwin had nine receptions for 105 yards. He also could have had a 10th.
That was a 50 yard bomb that hit him in the hands. Also could have had another touchdown, but he fumbled it into the end zone. So Godwin got off to a great start. Gronkowski was outstanding.
Gronk Gronk Gronk. Yeah, Mike was very happy because he started him in our League of Records. From the waiver wire to my starting lineup. 13 receptions for a Mari Cooper on 16 targets.
CDLAM had 15 targets. Very up and down performance from Lam with some drops, but you saw the yak explosiveness from CDLAM. He had five mind bending long touchdowns this year. Just get ready for it.
He had 100 yards and a touchdown and he sucked. He could have he didn't suck. No, he didn't suck. But my point is he had three plays that he made mistakes.
He should have walked away with 160 yards and maybe too much. The bigger news for the benefactors were to Mari Cooper and CDLAM having the incredible target share. Michael Gallup left this game with an ankle injury. And I mean, to that point, it seemed like when they were in too wide, it was still going to be Cooper and Gallup.
But if if if Gallup misses time, CDLAM is an even better option. That might cover your ears, but play, Charlie, and Dalton Schultz are going to share the work. Yeah, no, I know. Yeah, it was unfortunate, but Jarwin is nothing more than a just desperation play at this point.
Into the news we go. News and notes from around the league presented my sleeper. Yeah. Yeah.
Beep. Beep. One more. Beep.
The Gus Bus himself. Dang it, man. 20CL done for the season. Place on IR.
The Ravens have now lost J.K. Dobbins just to sail in Gus Edwards. Don't worry. They now have four 1,000 yard rushes.
They signed Latavius Murray, Devont Freeman, Leggo Bell, and of course, they have the rookie Tyson Williams. Why? How is he a thousand yard rusher? He is not, but wait, isn't there a fourth or am I, I think I'm discounted?
Wait for Todd Gurley. Just give me a day or two and then we'll revisit that stat. This is a mess. It's unfortunate for Gus.
The person had his opportunity and for it to happen in practice, like right before the season begins, shocking. I mean, Mike's expression in the office was, when he saw the tweet come across, they also lost Marcus Peters immediately after. On the next play, terrible luck for the Ravens. Jason asked me yesterday on the footcast our extra episode for Patreon.
You said, am I sticking with the Ravens? Is my Super Bowl pick? It's hard to do that. I mean, it was hard.
They were my pick before Dobbins got hurt. Now you lose your entire running back room and Marcus Peters. I don't think I earned bonus points by sticking with them through injuries. So I guess I would pivot to the Chiefs at this point out of the AFC and be extremely boring with that selection.
But Tyson Williams impressive pre-season, but the team went out and signed Freeman Bell and Letavius Murray. Murray's the most. I mean, he had his best yards per carry last year. He's a veteran.
He can catch the football. He can pass for Trecht. To me, he's the better back to have on my roster. Yeah, I think long term he very well could be the number one here.
This weekend, I would still expect it to be Tyson Williams. The fact that everyone is basically showing up right before, you know, the game time. I don't know that they're going to throw them right into the lead dog role. And what that means to me is that Tyson has at least the opportunity to be able to do to prove it.
He can go out this week and say if he is the lead dog and say, look, I can handle this, I can do this in which case he would solidify that role. But if he goes out and is mediocre, then I think it would be Letavius Murray as the one to have the rest of the game. I would be picking both of them up. And I would, I agree, I'll probably prioritize Letavius Murray for the long haul.
If you need a spot start this week, Tyson Williams in this matchup, I'm with Jason. I think he's still going to be a really solid running back to play against the Raiders. The matchup is fantastic. He's the guy this week.
I believe. Yes, voice of public opinion. I'm Bells of the AFC Superstar. Let me look, the do we have an official report yet?
Because Letavius Murray was put on to the 53. Devontae Freeman is still on the practice squad. Where is the status of Levy on Bell? I think he might still be on the practice squad.
The only thing I have to go on right now is what John Harbaugh said, which is that they expect him to be active for this weekend. That was before they signed Letavius Murray. It was. So honestly, like for.
But they knew Letavius was out there when they signed the bell. But they didn't. Right? I mean, that was.
But you didn't know for sure that you were going to get Letavius Murray. Someone else may have offered him more money. You had to move forward with the guys that you have and the guys that you can actually add right now. I mean, I think that's the best thing I've ever been on Letavius or Tyson.
This is week one. Sure. Because it is murky, I mean, you're talking 15 plus per cent. I would go on Letavius Murray probably 10, 10 to 20, 10 to 20 million.
How much money? It was a veteran minimum contract, I believe. Yes. He passed up on the taking a discount in New Orleans to sign veterans minimum for this year.
Yeah. It seemed like a great financial move. Honestly, for it. But I do believe that if it ends up being Letavius Murray takes over the starting position, I still believe that Tyson will be the backup.
Following the transactions, yes, Devonta Freeman was added, but they brought both Letavius Bell and Freeman into workout. They picked Letavius Bell and then they had another injury. So they went, okay, fine, Freeman, we'll put you on the practice squad. And those guys just, I don't think that they have the juice left and you can look back like this, this Ravens team year after year has found value at the running back position.
Go. You guys remember Justin Forsett? Oh, yes. Who had that sensational year and you didn't know it was going to be him because that was the year that was the Ray Rice year.
Like Ray Rice was slaughtered to be the starter. All of a sudden he's gone for his off the field bull crap and they're like, what do we do? And Justin Forsett is great. He don't make the law.
He just enforced it. So I'm saying, I'm putting, I'll put the chips on the Tavis Murray. I won't disagree with that. But Tyson still has a chance to me.
I know. I know. And this weekend I'm finding if you want to flex Tyson, I mean, he's going to get played this weekend. After that, it's kind of a difficult fab situation.
I think Tyson will probably be part of a back field committee. That's what before two signings yesterday, that's what I tweeted was like, hey, they're going to, they're going to have to share the load because you can't for, they're probably planning on three more injuries. I mean, at this point, you just expect you're running back to go down. Yes.
I will pivot from Gus Edwards. This week, I, he's not my star. I mean, I do love your pivot pick though. James Robinson against Houston.
This pick is all the more knife twist to yours truly because I made the decision a week before the season to trade James Robinson to get Gus Edwards in our dynasty league that I am defending my title with. I thought Edwards had a better season ahead of him than James Robinson does. So I'm going to pivot right to, can I pivot the trade back as well? Well, no, no, I don't think so.
I didn't like the trade for you when I was proven right. You're such a genius. And you're, you're trade for trade me Zeke, proven right again. James Robinson and Houston.
So we're going to talk about that game shortly. Josh Jacobs back in a limited capacity on Thursday. Oh, it wasn't. It was a toe injury for Josh Jacobs.
So keep your eyes on it. Yes. But being back on the practice field is good. Austin Echler still sidelined.
There is a, there's an optimism out of Los Angeles that Echler will be ready for the opener. There is a pessimism in my mind of his workload. And not only a pessimism for the workload is it's a late hamstring injury and he's missed multiple practices. Now we might get the right string.
Yes, a late string as they say in the kids, not even a camp string. Yeah. So that's a week one string, but he's missing practice and look, Justin Jackson needs to be stashed at the back of your bench. Because Austin Echler, sure, they're optimistic he could play.
He could go play. You got a, you got a probable chance that Austin Echler goes out and tweaks his hamstring and creates a larger problem. And all of a sudden Justin Jackson is the hot waiver pick up of the week. So heading in, you need to stash.
Watch you for now. Yes. Nelson Echler didn't practice. So Jacobi Myers is looking interesting in week one.
Trey Kwan Smith didn't practice. This is a good. Treg, Treg Kwan Smith was an often grabbed guy with your last pick that he might be the number one target. Got him.
Move on. Go to your waiver wire and grab someone else's your shot. Go grab Ryan Edwards and replace Treg Kwan. Kenny Gallaudet limited Odell Beckham limited, Tarnell Mooney limited.
That's what we have right now. Which is whatever. A reminder, if you are a supporter of a joint the foot com, we post game day alerts. Mike is also live on Sunday morning.
So even though this is the last episode of the podcast for the week, we're going to be out on socials with any news we get. We're going to be out with game day live. You are. Fantasy forecast. Hopping into the fantasy forecast once again week one matchups yesterday. We covered Eagles, Falcons, Steelers, Biles, Vikings, Bangles, 49ers, Lions, Cardinals, Titans, Seahawks, Colts.
If you want to hear one of those, just click the click the episode that came up yesterday. Los Angeles, the Chargers travel. They take on the Washington football team. The Draft King Sportsbook line here, Washington minus one at home, over under 45 points in this game.
Though it's almost a heads up matchup here between the Chargers and the potentially limited Austin Echler and the Washington football team will be likely without Curtis Samuel, still listed as questionable, but a couple of injuries on both sides and Jason's making a face that says that questionable is going to turn into it. Oh, real quick. There is no question as to whether he is questionable. He is out.
You don't believe in miracles? I believe in miracles just not with the miracle should have already happened. This is been too long. Growing miracles?
No. No. All right. Justin Herbert on the road against the Great Washington defense.
How great? Well, third against opposing quarterback, second against opposing running backs, third against wide receivers, eighth against tight end. Top 10 in all categories last year against fantasy players. So there are question marks about confidence levels on the Chargers off inside, especially if Echler isn't unlocking a bit of that defense with his versatility.
I'm concerned about Justin Herbert. I am too. It's week one. You're playing the guys that you drafted unless you have some real intestinal fortitude.
I wouldn't mind pivoting to Matt Ryan against the Philadelphia Eagles over Justin Herbert. So it's not that Herbert is a terrible play, but the Washington defense is for real. Yeah. I mean, a lot of the week one advice is going to be, sir, you're going to probably play most of the players you drafted higher.
There's going to be some start, sit decisions like the wherewithant, Tony O'Brien or later round picks. We'll try to focus on those because if you drafted Herbert to be a quarterback, you're not going to cut him in week one. Okay. Well, let's get to it.
If Austin Eckler plays, is he in your lineup? I think he's limited today. He ends up a limited Friday practice. If he's active, I'm going to play him because he doesn't take if he was strictly a two down back and going to share the work against Washington defense like this.
I mean, you're going to have to run through the arrogance then. They give up 60 fancy points a game to the running guy position total last year. But yes, I would play a first round running back that I drafted. Okay.
If he was active Gibson, start him up. Yes, please. Thermichlaurin absolutely Logan Thomas was Jason started the week at tight end. They're going to need him in this matchup.
And the Chargers last year, at least were 21st against opposing fantasy tight ends. Keenan Allen is a great start as usual. Yeah, I would say because you're going to start the people you drafted high, the main focus is just what the watch for in these games. I'm going to be watching Josh Palmer and Mike Williams.
See if the rookie is on the field, I don't expect him to have a good game because Washington and I'm going to watch the Jericho Donald Parham tight end situation to see can a younger more athletic tight and get on the field. I don't expect anything from any of them, but watch them in this game and I'll be watching the army Brown on the Washington side. Yeah, there's a chance that Parham in the huge waiver, right? After this game, the Jets take on the Carolina Panthers drafting Sportsbook line is Panthers minus four at home over under is 44.5 and that puts the implied points all at 24 for the Panthers.
20 for the Jets. The Zach Wilson debut, not the worst matchup for that. I mean, I you're on the road, but you have an opportunity against the bottom half defense at least last year. Up against revenge.
Oh, the Sam Donald. Oh, the Sam Donald. In less they put a picture of Adam Gayser like a cardboard cutout. You think they're not doing that?
It's like I would. Yeah, I think that they're planting a bunch of people with Adam Gays masks in the stadium. He's going to look around. What if he was standing behind center and you look up and there's about 9,000 Adam Gayses staring at you?
Come on, ma'am. Yeah. All right. So Donald Zach Wilson, not really in consideration this week, but you'll be watching Sam.
Yeah. I mean, I do think if you're in a super flex and you drafted these guys, the matchup is not the worst. I agreed. I mean, it's a 44 and a half point line if these quarterbacks surprise.
And that's why this line is a little bit low because so far, Donald has sucked in his career and we haven't seen anything from Zach Wilson. But there is a world where both of these guys actually end up coming out and starting well. We get to see Christian McCaffrey return from injury. How's that?
We get to see how this wide receiver room with the newly extended Robbie Anderson and DJ Moore and Terris Marshall Jr. Dan Arnold, the postman. But start wise, Moore and Anderson are in there. The rest are just watches.
That is correct. I think Marshall is a fine desperation, like double flex type of a player. Okay. Well, okay.
Let's ask a question for a friend. Do it, Jason. Would you play Jalen Rager or Terris Marshall? I think I'll play Marshall.
What if you have Jalen Hertz as your quarterback? I ask you for a friend. This is nothing to do with my record. Yeah, I play Rager with the limited pass catching options.
He could have a big plan. That's who is in my lineup. Oh, man, hit the button. Breaking news questionable.
My boy. Yeah, that cue didn't change to. Oh, no, it did not change to IR. Oh, Samuel on IR later today.
I assume this is the three week. This is great. Great, great news. I have.
No, I know. I know. One of those cool comments. This is saving managers from landmines.
This is not great news for Curtis Samuel. I'm not saying like, oh, Curtis, it's not great news for Washington. But it is great news for fantasy football because I could tell you I have Curtis Samuel on a lot of my rosters. My two most drafted players were Mario Cooper and Curtis Samuel.
Can you go with helpful news? Yes, this is. I don't see how it's great. Well, here's how I have been every single moment of the day thinking I need to drop Curtis Samuel.
I need to drop him. I don't want to have this roster clog, but I drafted him a little bit higher. And so it's really been tough to make the decision. Now I can either move him to my IR or if you don't have an IR, cut him and move on, which is that's I'm just saying when you get something that gives you the confidence to make the right transaction, that side of it is great.
It's helpful. I'm with Andy. Let's go with the verbiage helpful. So Deyami Brown now moves from I'm watching in this weekend to if you've got the binoculars out and focused on us saying if you have the fly spot, you should.
He's one of the options. He's one of the most. He's one of the most. Terrace Marshall or Deyami Brown?
Marshall, yes. For what it's worth, I knew that our waivers were going through as the show was going on. Oh, you want to know how much Fab got spent on the team is Murray. It was $34.
Holy shnikes. Out of a $100 budget. Now I had bid. Now I had bid 20.
I think I'd put like five. He went for 34 in our League of Records for what it's worth. That might help you if... But I also have to place on.
So who? Wow. Yeah. That's aggressive.
Yeah. I would imagine you would have been maybe more aggressive to kind of guarantee you have the back field there. It was of course you could get stuck with both everywhere. That's what the situation I wanted to avoid.
I didn't want to clear my fab and then have no problems or have big problems. All right. The other side of this game, you have Zach Wilson not playing him. Are you starting any of the the jets running backs in this?
No. No, this is a keep your eyes on a situation. And I think that one of these running backs could be a success in fantasy week one, but you don't know who it's going to be. You don't know if it's going to be Kevin Coleman or Ty Johnson or whether the rookie gets more involved than he was a preseason.
This is just a wait and see there. I think the only player that I'm for sure starting is Corey Davis. What about him against somebody like Robbie Anderson? Would you rather play Corey Davis this week or Robbie Anderson?
I think I would rather play Robbie Anderson. Okay. Davis is a good start. He's the kind of one that you can look at.
And both Croft and Arnold are dart throws in DFR. Tyler Croft is definitely a dart throw. I mean, the last year the Jets were dead last. The worst team against opposing tight ends.
We will move on to the Jacksonville Jam. Wow. And before we do that, one of the things today's sponsor, Manscaped fellas, you know that we've been talking about Manscaped for quite some time on this podcast. The number one grooming products for men.

What we do, we are contractually obligated to discuss this. Barnburn of a matchup. I'm actually into it. Look, it's just to the Sir Lawrence.
I'm excited to see what happens in this one. I'm a little surprised too with the, like we know the defenses last year struggled tremendously. Draft Kings has the over under 45.5 points. Jacksonville minus three.
So they're favored on the road here. I would take them in the points. But we're probably going to get a divisional, I think what Draft Kings, the sports book is seeing is what we actually see in this division all the time, which is you expect Barnburn, you get defensive battle, you get a close game, you get a 45.5 point over under despite the fact these were two of the worst defenses last year. Well, I think it's because these were two of the worst offenses last year.
And the only improvement is a rookie who could very well improve the Jaguars. But the use of Texans, I think they would have a not easy time scoring on college teams. Like if it was Bama, I don't think they would, they would torch them. I mean, I don't, the Texans offense is one where it's hard to find anything nice.
You'll probably be surprised. This is setting up to surprise us like happens every year. Tyrod, Ingram, Lindsey, DJ. I'm not touching the running back room.
Brandon Cooks. I am watching it though. Yeah, I'm watching it. You're not playing any of these players.
Over the offseason, it went from shortly it will be David Johnson, who was last year's starter. He was solid. He's an incredible pass catching running back to him being demoted. And they brought in a whole bunch of running backs.
And then it was, oh, surely it will be Phillip Lindsey because Mark Ingram is elderly. And he looked, he looked kind of washed last year for the Baltimore Ravens. And then preseason says Mark Ingram is the starter for this team. So Andy's right.
Don't play any of these players if you can avoid it any cost. But one of them might provide some sort of really gross, disgusting running back value. I think you can start Trevor Lawrence this week. Yeah.
I also like James Robinson. Like my new star of the week, he's in there. He's in a lot of the most rushing yards in the NFL in 2020. And I think you can start Marvin Jones.
I think you can start Leviscus and all and take your chances with both of him in a flex position. Chark is the one I have more hesitation about, but he is healthy. He's going to be back out there. And there's no reason why he couldn't have a game as well.
DJ Chark is what makes me nervous to play. About the other two. Yeah, because Marvin Jones was the go-to for Lawrence over the course of preseason. But that's because DJ Chark was not playing.
Is that the truth that Lawrence has that mind meld already going with Marvin Jones? Or was that DJ Chark the number one wasn't there? It's probably a little bit of both in the sense that obviously you can't throw to Chark when he's not there. But Marvin Jones is the better wide receiver.
Marvin Jones is better than DJ Chark. And they've been practicing and playing in preseason. So I still expect Marvin Jones to be the one. But you're right that he will be impacted a little bit by Chark.
I think more so than Leviscus and all who is the gadget guy, the line of scrimmage guy, the screen game manufacturer touches. He's touches should still be there. And on the Houston side, just keep your eyes on the targets, not name, brand and cooks in this office. Is it Jordan Akins?
Akins. Nico Collins. They're interesting. I thought we were just saying that.
No, I'm emphasizing that Akins is one of those waver tight ends that I'm going to be watching. The Cleveland Browns take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. The Draft King Sportsbook line here. Oh baby.
Chiefs minus five over under the highest of the week. I think it's 54 and a half. Let's go. That puts it a what a 30 to 25 game here.
That's healthy. Every here's a crazy stat about how Kansas City ended the year last year. Every single game from week nine through 16 was a one score game for Kansas City. Seven consecutive.
You went seven and no. That's not normal. Yeah, in that wild. That's what happens when you have the greatest quarterback in the league.
I mean, it's like last night in the game, we were talking on Slack, even when the Cowboys were just everything was prime for them to win. I'm like, I just don't Brady Brady will get those one score games like you have to finish the game. Yes, but I mean, you can't say everyone because they showed the stat last night. I think it was like eight of 18.
He's done it. So it was just under 50%. So that's what I'm saying of seven and oh in a one score game. That's that's regression alert if that's how their defense keeps playing.
You disagree? Who do you have? We still believe that at the end of the game with Patrick Mahomes, if you if you don't finish the game with the ball, if you lose, you lose. Same thing with Russell Wilson in one score games.
It's a historical thing for him over multiple years. So either way, it's going to be a fun one. Baker has three total road wins in his career versus teams above 500. Oh, gross.
So that is something to keep in mind. Even if you like the matchup and you think the chief's defense is vulnerable in week one with all the weapons that the Browns have, keep that in mind and you're thinking about streaming Baker Mayfield this week. I'm not comfortable with it. So he's an eyeball testing this year.
I agree. I'm also not comfortable and I think this is the biggest question in this game is what do you do with Odell Beckham Jr.? I know I've not been a big Odell Beckham Jr believer, but there's also the fact that I'm not 100% sure that he's just fully healthy and it's possible he is ready to go and that his limited nature is just part of resting a veteran who doesn't need to do this coming off of the ACL. But it's also possible that he's just not 100% yet and he was drafting his got the name recognition where a lot of people are going to be playing him.
And I think that there are probably other options. You know, I'd rather play Corey Davis, for instance, or or Juju. Yeah, but what about when you go a tear down? That's your down.
Okay, like Marvin Jones, would you play Marvin Jones over Odell Beckham? I think this is one of the nuances of fantasy. So I have to like I had Mike Evans last night. Okay.
My opponent had Tom Brady. So you need to swing for fences. So I'm swinging for the fences with Beckham because I don't want to play somebody that's just going to be potentially a middle of the road. I'm going to play somebody in a match where they're going to need to score a lot and hope that somehow some way you catch a couple of touchdown passes and Beckham breaks along play.
So it is contextual. That's what these decisions are. And it's just one player, but he has a superstar. And as of an hour ago, Tyron Matthew was still in the COVID protocol.
So he may be out this weekend. Yeah, they were chiefs were number two in the NFL against fantasy wide receivers last year. So it was not a great match up for them. They only gave up 25 combined points across all the wide receivers per game that they played.
So Clyde, you're playing them. You're drafting them to play them. Mike loves Kareem Hunt this week to start of the week, probably because they are not favored and they're going to need some help against that pass rush. Exactly why.
And then timey kel, yeah, you're going to play him. What about Travis Kelsey? Kelsey, I'm thinking about it. Yeah.
I think the other options are. Please play him. McCall Hardman, he's a desperation play in this game. The him and Robinson will both be other secondary options for a Patrick Mahomes when he can't pass it to his primaries.
Yeah, I mean, obviously last year we got the Sammy Watkins week one game that surprised everybody. So that could happen. But I feel like there are so many flyers I would rather take a shot on. Like I would rather put Henry Ruggs in my lineup than a Meco Hardman.
Now Jarvis Landry is not a name that I think was uttered more than two times during the offseason on this podcast for because you say it three times. It shows up. I wish I'd party with Jarvis. Yeah, man.
Bless him. Yeah. He was not a good fantasy football season for him last year. However, in that stretch of games where Baker Mayfield was solid at the end of the season where it looked like the the Stavansky offense was clicking in for the passing game for him.
Now I know Odo Beckham was was long gone with the ACL injury, but you had three out of four weeks where he was a top 15 option. Are we overlooking Jarvis Landry as someone who can be a wide receiver three? It's really to me it is entirely about Odo Beckham. I mean, that was at the end of the year.
Odo Beckham was gone and really you throughout his wide receiver 25 finish. But basically at the end of the year when he played he only had one bad game. So I think Jarvis is okay. He's like a Tyler Boyd type and a PPR.
He's just not a field stretcher and not a touchdown guy. So in this matchup, it's okay, but I would rather look elsewhere. I like Hooper. Okay.
I think Hooper is going to get a ton of targets in this game. Interesting. Much like your reasoning for cream hunt Hooper is going to be very helpful against the pass rush, getting the ball out quick. Chiefs were really bad against Titans last year.
And I think Hooper is going to be more integrated into the offensive season. He could be Hooper. My concern for Austin Hooper is that even though he's the contract and everything is there, this is another. This is adult and Schultz Blake Jarwin.
This is Irv Smith and Kyle Rudolph that Harrison Bryant who was a tight end on the Cleveland Browns, he's a good player too. And I think that they could just make each other irrelevant. The Miami Dolphins traveled in New England to take on the Patriots. Boy, that's a low over under drafting.
It says that 43 and a half Patriots minus three at home. I do like the Patriots to win this game myself. I didn't realize that they were favored by three. I thought it would be a little bit closer.
But you know, we're going to see Matt Jones versus two. I mean, it's kind of fascinating. That's fascinating. A couple of young quarterbacks and franchises.
Absolutely. And then, but neither of them are really fantasy options this week. When you think about this matchup, let's start a wide receiver for a second with what's happening with Nelson Aguilar with the fact that Kobe Myers was so targeted in the preseason. Are you willing to play him in this game?
The low over under obviously the Dolphins have a good defense, but Matt Jones is kind of going to breathe maybe something into this passing game in New England. Yeah, I think Jacob Myers is in play, especially if it's a PPR league. I hate having to give that. Don't caveat all the time, but that's Jacobi Myers should be an eight plus target.
A type of fellow every single week. And that's going to turn into what, you know, five for five for fifty five for seventy sometimes. And that's that's a decent wide receiver three or flex play, especially with Aguilar being entering the weekend banked up. Jason, you like Johnny Smith this week?
Any hesitation with Henry being active and we finally get to see them together? Well, it was obviously it's better for John Smith fantasy wise to have Hunter Henry out of the way. But when I was talking to some people out of the Boston area that are really plugged in on the team, they believe the office is going to run through Johnny, which was surprising to me with Nelson Aguilar out. I do think Johnny is going to be utilized a lot.
I think he is a fine weekly play. If you are struggling and you don't, you know, you waited on tight end and you want to play the match ups, I think you could do okay with Johnny when this game. But to be honest, I look at this matchup and I am really not wanting to start pass catchers from either side. The low over and under the two great defenses, the two unproven quarterbacks.
I think this is going to be a, you know, Damien Harris. Sure. I'll plug him in. Miles Gaskin.
Sure. I'll plug him in. I don't know that I want any pass catcher. The ceiling feels.
Yeah. Six for 70. That's like that. Never say it in the week.
Sure. That's not bad. He didn't goose you. He helped you a little bit.
But I just feel like I feel like that's, you know, too close to the ceiling. Too close to the ceiling is what I'm saying where I don't know that he has six for 70 and a touchdown. Man, you're talking. You have my interest.
All right. What about Gaskin? I'm going to be at home. It's something to prove.
