Week 11: Monday The Parable of the Weeds

As we discuss this parable, let’s first ask ourselves, “Why did Jesus speakto the people in this fashion?” The apostles wanted to know this also, andJesus answered by quoting the prophet Isaiah, “This is why I speak tothem in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do nothear, nor do they understand For this people's heart has grown dull, andwith their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lestthey should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understandwith their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’"(Matthew 13:13-15,ESV).
