Good morning Americans it's Friday. Well, it's Friday It's not good morning because I'm recording this at 2 16 p.m. in the afternoon eastern standard time And what we're going to talk about since it's Friday. I've got another drop I don't have it loaded onto my machine.
I've got it. I gotta do some work man I gotta do some work here in the snowdale. Oh, no, I'm gonna get that done But I gotta do that got got stood cuz I got a really good drop for Fridays. You may have heard it before It's from the Neil Rogers show and it's success.
It's Friday you bastards. Anyway, it's funny as hell But I even made a YouTube video about that It's about a one minute. So it's exactly a one minute YouTube video that shows beautiful pictures and beautiful music at the end It says that but it and that was years ago. I need to be more creative I'm telling oh and guess what guess what before I get into the today's topic.
I just got this postcard in the mail Oh, it says no contracts. No hidden fees. No kidding exciting news Your neighborhood is gearing up to join IQ fibers 100% fiber optic network that offers super fast full-home Wi-Fi for one flat price No surprises. What does this mean to you?
This means to me that I'm gonna wait around and if my neighbors get it and they have it for a long time and they're like real happy with it I'll switch. Otherwise, I'm saying right where I am cuz I've switched twice before and I've lived to regret it I have totally lived to credit regret it. Okay, so the weekends here and according to the rules according to the exact rules Where the rules? Oh, they're right here on the internet according to the rules.
We're supposed to use the weekends or recharging What does that even mean recharging our batteries? What the hell does that even mean? Recharging, you know, I don't know but who decided that who decided that weekends are for recharging who who came up with that I? Guess it came out from the industrial revolution and Henry Ford and all of that You know, you're gonna work in the car factory or you're gonna work at Kellogg's or you're gonna work in the aluminum factory Or wherever the hell you work and then you're gonna have the weekend so you got to bust your ass all week long And then you have the weekend recharge.
What do you do on the weekends? I you know at this time of my life when I need recharging. I just recharge whatever recharging means if I get tired, I rest That's all I remember seeing a Star Trek episode Many years ago where everybody on the ship this is the original Star Trek was talking about, you know going to the The one little they had this one little port in there this one room They could turn into anything or you know, you could go and take a vacation here You could take a vacation there and mr. Spock said when I'm tired I rest.
I don't have to go do all this stuff I just rest. So, you know, I'm kind of the same way I don't need to recharge and I don't remember the lot. Well, I do remember the last time I had a cool vacation and It's been 20 years over 20 years since I had a cool vacation over. It's that's a long time and I'm getting old I better, you know, do some stuff here pretty soon But you know, I had I remember the last school of vacation is when I had all my kids and we went And we took what was called a parrication What is a parrication you say?
There is this hotel on the other coast near Daytona beach someplace called Perry And they're famous or their their homemade donuts and so you could go take a parrication right on the beach And it would be really cool. So we loaded up the family into the family structure Which was a Dodge Caravan man and we drive all the way over to Perry's and I gotta tell you Perry's was kind of a dump But you know, I was looking forward to the donuts which were not very good, but you know at a good time, you know we drove around and There was a lighthouse that we all climbed up to the top of and you know went to the beach and all of this and the swimming pool didn't work Something's wrong with the pool at the hotel. That didn't work But we know from there we went off and I think we went to Denny world from there You know, it was a drive on the way home We stopped and went to Disney and you know, that was a vacation No, that was good and the one before that that was the best happened in the 80s when I was married to my favorite Mrs. Gross and we went to an all-inclusive resort in the grilled Jamaica and I'm gonna tell you when I go on vacation I'm I by you know by the time vacation is coming to an end.
I am so damn ready to go home But on that one on that particular one I didn't want to leave I did not want to leave I want to lay there in a Sun in hot tub in the pool in the ocean and do all kind I mean, that's all I wanted to do I met cool people that I still know from there met a guy who had a really cool sunglasses Really cool sunglasses and he told me the name of the sunglasses or the name of the lens And I remember coming back and going to the Sunglass But at Countryside Mall and I said I need sunglasses with these lenses and for the damn life of me I cannot remember now what those lenses were, but they were cool as hell They were like a light brown you could see through it They were you know true blue blockers. These were good and I got and they were expensive. They said well Yeah, we can get that for you, but it's a special order as I don't care I want and I think I paid this was like in the 80s. I think I paid a hundred and sixty bucks for a pair of sunglasses and Had those sunglasses.
Oh until um, no until like 1992 when one of my children sat on them and just that was the end of them And that was gone. So I said, okay, and you know I went on from there and But I still want to remember what those were because I once I want me with some that's it Yeah, a lot of people getting back to this weekend thing and this recharging thing a lot of people Pressure you to use your weekend correctly. Have you ever done that? You know if you go to work and they say well Did you do that?
What did you do this week? I laid around on my ass and I caught up on a bunch of TV shows Oh, no, you should go to the park. You should have gone to the dog park by the way I think they should ban dog parks, but that's just me You know, it's it but people guilt you if you don't do a weekend correctly Rest versus recovery. Is there a difference rest equals stopping?
You know, you know when you rest I'm done when I'm rest. I'm gonna lay down. I'm gonna lay on the sofa. I'm gonna lay on my bed I'm gonna you know if I'm you know back when I had a pool I would go put my fat ass in the pool and you know that that is resting Recovery equals actually feeling better afterwards.
That's according to the internet here. It says so right there Recovery equals actually feeling better afterwards. What the hell does that mine mean? Okay, when I'm rested I have energy go out and do other stuff but What's the difference if I feel refreshed?
Well, I don't know if I'm if I've recharged and I'm refreshed. Does that mean I'm happier? I Don't know tell me tell me what you think about that. It's just a little bit beyond me But I'm grateful for the small moments of renewal any day of the week Any day of the week when I can supposedly recharge.
I'm glad I'm happy about that. That's good I don't need no damn weekend to recharge or if we're that matter even rest as a matter of fact I got a bunch of crap to do here in the studio today. I got a clean. I got organized guys.
You're a bunch of shit out Did I say that word? I'm sorry. I'm gonna have to do that. This is a podcast and What I'm done with it.
What I'm gonna do. I'm gonna watch a bunch of television. I'm gonna rest a bunch of mindless television All right, see you all next week on this the Daily Grateful
