The ego doesn't want you to be intuitive and start following the Holy Spirit, it wants you to be distracted by lots of stimulation... The whole point of "A Course in Miracles" is to start to recognize the call for love in your brothers and sisters. Because when you do, then the love in your heart will be activated and start to come through. But the ego doesn't want you to wake up, because if you wake up then the ego is out of business. So it generates many, many distractions to keep the mind away from the stillness where God is found... Judgements have become so familiar. That's what we all know in our daily lives, the chatter between friends and family. And our heart is going, "I want to get out!"
