We start the day with breaking news overnight on the east side, where police are investigating a shooting near 38th and Midhofer. Officers found a man critically injured and rushed him to the hospital. Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward, since it happened in a busy area with lots of people around, but nobody reported seeing the shooter. If anyone has tips, Metro police want to hear from you. Earlier in the weekend, a chase on the northwest side near 38th and Moeller left three people hurt, including a Speedway police officer. The chase ended when suspects crashed into a patrol car. The officer is recovering, but one suspect remains in critical condition.
