Highlights of this week's Commodity Podcast: • It was yet another solid week for commodities except oil, as the U.S. Dollar corrected falling below the 107 level. • A decrease in the U.S. CPI inflation and expectation of slow Fed rate hikes is negative for the U.S. dollar and positive for commodity prices. • Precious metals staged a fantastic rally in the previous week, supported by the U.S. CPI data and uncertainty in the U.S. mid-term elections. • Focus for this week will be on the U.S. retail sales numbers. • An above expected print would prompt a recovery in U.S. Dollar which will be negative for precious metals and vice versa. • Oil prices might trade with a sideways to upside bias for the week, as supply concerns might once again take center stage. • Base metals may see a pullback, as LME decided against a ban on Russian metal.
