Highlights of 31st July Fundamental Weekly Podcast- Nifty 50 and Sensex 30 index made new highs.- Both Nifty and Sensex lost around 1% while Mid-cap and Small-cap indices outperformed the large-cap index.- Flls continue to be a net buyer to the tune of Rs. 14623 crores, to date in July'23.- On the economy front, the US Fed increased its Federal Funds rate by 25 bps, while suggesting that future rate trajectory will be data dependent. - Given the high inflation, FPI flow is expected to remain volatile.- PICK OF THE WEEK – Canara Bank - TARGET - Rs 400BUY- Canara Bank reported ~75% YOY earnings growth driven by ~15% YOY growth in operating profit and ~25% YOY decline in provisions. - Asset quality improvement continued as NPL ratios declined and slippages were at a modest level. Loan growth was healthy (13% yoy, 3% qoq) while NIM was flat qoq.- The bank reported another quarter of >1% RoA and ~19% RoE led by further decline in credit cost.
