Weekly Hot News Podcast, January 3, 2022

from Hillsboro School District Weekly Hot News Podcast · host Hillsboro School District

January is School Board Appreciation Month and we'd like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our seven elected School Board members for their voluntary service to the District and to the greater Hillsboro community: Chair Mark Watson, Vice Chair Nancy Thomas, and Directors Lisa Allen, See Eun Kim, Erika Lopez, Yadira Martinez, and Monique Ward. We would also like to recognize and thank our three student representatives to the Board: Michelle Chen of Hillsboro Online Academy and Glencoe High School, Kaylee Vazquez Burgos of Hilhi, and Ceph Tronco of Glencoe High School. Our featured staff member is Cayla Van Loo from Hillsboro Online Academy. From November 8 to December 15, 2021, Cayla held a sock drive called “Project Twinkle Toes” to benefit nonprofit organizations With Love and Project Lemonade, both of which support kids in foster care. Her goal was to collect 1,000 pairs of socks and by the end nearly twice that amount had been donated by students, families, and fellow staff members. Way to go Cayla and the HOA community - you make us proud to be HSD! www.hsd.k12.or.us
