On Friday, October 29th, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for children ages 5 through 11. The authorization was based on the FDA’s thorough evaluation of the data, which included input from independent advisory committee experts and showed that the known and potential benefits of the vaccine in individuals down to 5 years of age outweigh the known and potential risks. Our featured students are from Glencoe’s Shockwave robotics team. They were on hand at the Hillsboro Farmers’ Market Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 30th, to demonstrate the capabilities of one of their competition robots.
