Weekly Wrap: Why were ex-minister Iswaran's charges reduced?

This week, an unexpected turn of events at the start of a much-anticipated criminal trial of Singapore's former transport minister S Iswaran. The landmark trial marks the first time in 50 years that a political office holder was put in the dock.  The 62 year-old pleaded guilty after prosecutors amended corruption charges against him to reduced counts of obtaining gifts and valuable items worth more than $400,000 in total.
