Weep and Rejoice

If you have been following the latest news, you may be painfully aware of the current state of Afghanistan. Reading of accounts from fellow believers in Christ from there is heartbreaking. It leads many of us to pray for them and to ask God to strengthen then. One particular verse came to mind thinking on these things concerning our brothers and sisters in Christ in Afghanistan, as well as those who do not believe or commit evil acts. It was Romans 12:15, "Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep." Both are equally important in this situation though some may not understand why there is a reason to rejoice. Prayer is vital right now, and the decision of these believers to remain and to minister the gospel while facing impending death is convicting and encouraging.
