微信在美国推广 Tencent pushes Wechat in US

Tencent is now taking steps to try to popularize① its WeChat presence in the US market. Tencent is teaming up with Google to reward US users who invite five of their google contacts to join WeChat with a 25-dollar restaurant voucher②. It is the first promotion③ of Wechat launched in the US after Tencent opened a US office last year. Some analysts have questioned whether WeChat really needs a significant④ presence in the US market from a business point of view. But the same analysts also point out that teaming up with Google could bring Tencent other strategic⑤ benefits. According to internet publication Wired⑥, Google accounts for about 25 percent of all consumer Internet traffic running through North American ISPs.
