Welch Commits to Syracuse

Syracuse just pulled off a major recruiting win with three-star defensive back Jalen Welch, a top Georgia prospect for the 2027 class who announced his commitment on social media — all in for the Orange. His decision comes at a crucial time as Syracuse rebuilds after a dismal 3-win season, losing another defender earlier this week. Welch, who had offers from Power Five schools like Iowa State and North Carolina, joins four other DBs committed for 2027 — signaling Fran Brown’s team is serious about turning things around and competing in the ACC.
