Welcome to Intensive Caring: Voices from the ICU, a new podcast hosted by Dr. David Hornstein, and brought to you by the MUHC Foundation. Regardless of what brought you to an ICU, enduring an episode of critical illness and its aftermath are life changing experiences. And recovery is not about “getting back to the way it was before”, but rather about moving forward; becoming whole again, accepting change and loss and breaking free from the isolation so inherent in the journey. It’s about finding ways to embrace life and all it has to offer.On this podcast, you will hear from some remarkable people who have lived through critical illness. We’ll hear their often unbelievable stories of survival and recovery. We will hear their perspectives gained, and we’ll speak with the health care professionals who have cared for them.
