Thursday Aug 19th and Friday Aug 20th are minimum days: 8:10 am -1:40 pm. The Bell Schedule is here. As we return to school the district is continually monitoring the guidelines outlined by the state. We will start the year as follows: students are expected to wear masks at all times indoors. Outside, students can take their masks off (if they want to keep them on, that’s fine too). We will provide opportunities for hand washing/sanitizing as well. I will occasionally post to a class instagram account. You can find me @mrgray_iusd and I will accept your follow request. As always, I am available to answer any questions you may have throughout the year. Feel free to say hello and stop by the classroom after school, send me an email, or schedule a zoom call. I will talk more about classroom communication on back to school night which will be Thursday, September 2nd and will be held virtually at TBD o’ clock. Reader’s Workshop This week, the kids will listen to me reading some short books out loud. We will also spend time getting to know the classroom library. Writer’s Workshop The kids will write a letter of introduction and work on some projects to share more about themselves. Math What happened to math class? We will explore and share the numbers that make up our lives as we play a “Figure Me Out!” game. Social Studies Science We’ll play a game with cups and gummy worms to try to Save Fred!
