With that said, how are you, Alex? How are you, Greg? I'm doing all right. Good.
So, this is just a quick promo. We might as well introduce ourselves to the people. I'll go first. I'm the managing editor of The American Mind and work for the Claremont Institute.
I've known Greg and Alex both for over a decade. I officiated Alex's wedding. I was an undergraduate when Greg was my TA at the University of Maryland. And now things have come full circle.
As the sole academic, non-academic on this podcast, I learned from them. So Alex, tell us a little bit about yourself. Well, yeah, we met at St. John's back in the day.
You officiated my wedding and you neglected to say that I officiated yours. I knew Greg about the time that we met as well. But yeah, the podcast is going to be on political philosophy and specifically or primarily the history of political philosophy. We'll be looking at a lot of serious works in that history.
We already have a couple of episodes on Machiavelli. We've covered Aristotle. We're planning to do a very soon, some play-doh, a whole bunch of stuff, all the classics and lesson known works, the major works, some thematic stuff. But we're really going to just sort of go wherever our interests take us and just have some good conversations, serious but playful conversations about the history of political philosophy.
Greg, yeah, hi, I'm Greg and Greg. I'm a professor of political science. I've known you guys for a long time. I think I was already a very grown man and you guys were young bucks.
I guess I would just add to what Alex said that we are not only going to do great works of political philosophy, but we're also going to do occasionally podcast devoted to movies or current events or maybe novels or poems or something like that. We're going to try and treat political philosophically a variety of issues. Yeah. We'll try and treat it also in a comical way.
Most listeners of ours will pick up on the play on our title. Thinkery, of course, is from Aristophanes clouds. So very much in the Ristophanic spirit is kind of the way that our podcast will proceed. We'll try very, very hard not to garner an explicit rating for the show.
