This time I get to sit down with Jessie Harrold and talk about how the shift into motherhood takes way longer than the typical 6 weeks that we think of in our dominant culture. Join us as we explore – how this looks – what this means for us as mothers – how we can honor this time as a sacred rite of passage – their common interest in ecofeminism – and hear some of Margo’s reflections as she traverses this landscape for now the second time (her son was still a newborn when this was recorded!). Jessie Harrold is a doula, coach, women’s mentor, author of the recent book Project Body Love and her upcoming title, MotherSHIFT. Her work weaves between the worlds of science and magic, the personal and the political, exploring life transition and rites of passage, ecofeminism and mythology, neuroscience and attachment psychology, ancestral skills and restoring the wild feminine. She serves women and mothers one-to-one as a doula and life coach, teaches two online programs, reWILD and MotherSHIFT, and leads wilderness quests and pregnancy retreats.
