WE'RE 40! Also We Edit with Davinci Resolve : Cmd+Edit 040

from Command Edit Hosted by Nick Montgomery + Josh Short

It's official! We are over the hill (in podcast episode numbers, that is). But it's meagre milestone when we realize we're going for 400 easily. In this episode we talk about what it's like editing a feature with Davinci Resolve, once thought to only be a colour grading application. Until BlackMagic released version 12 with some NLE capabilities. It's not exactly the easiest transition in the world to change over to Resolve though... Video Copilot came bursting into the party with a new plug-in (FOR FREE!). The Saber Plug-In for After Effects helps you create lightsabers, glow fade-off, lasers and other glowy, sci-fi stuff (http://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2016/03/new-plug-in-saber-now-available-100-free/). PLUS, we have a contest! And you can win a pretty sweet prize. Our good pals over at Post Notes have released a plug-in that brings your to-do list of revisions and notes from the director directly into a Premiere panel. No more switching back and forth between Premiere and your email thread with the director or Preview with a pdf of changes to make (http://postnotes.io/). So here's how you can win a copy of Post Notes for yourself: leave an iTunes review for the podcast...yeah, yeah, it's a shameful "Hungry for iTunes Reviews Contest" play, but whatever we're going with it and you get a copy of a handy plugin. Step 1: Write us an iTunes review. Honestly, it can be anything. But whatever you write, we will read on our next episode. You need to submit it before March 26th 11:59PM to qualify. Step 2: E-mail us at [email protected] and let us know what your iTunes username is and which review is yours. Y'know, so we can reward you. Step 3: Wait. That's it. We will randomly pick a winner from all reviewers. Explicit Behind The Rose Podcast Nation Don't be fooled by the glitz and glam of reality television; it's not all sunshine and roses. A bad edit can turn you into someone you don't even recognize, something Bachelor franchise alum & DJ, Blake Horstmann, knows first-hand. He is joined by friend Erik Bradley as they set out to humanize the "villains" and check in with cast members from a range of reality shows who haven't had the opportunity to set the record straight (until now). Your hosts also chat about recent episodes of popular shows and the ever-evolving pulse of the DJ industry. So come Behind the Rose for exclusive interviews with real, three-dimensional people who explain what really went down behind their edit. They're ready to spill it all, and America's favorite stage-coach is ready to hold their hand and hold up the mic.
