We're Living in an Era of Republican Domestic Terrorism

My wife grew up during the era of Shining Path terrorism in Peru. Her dad was in the military. She’s told me stories of car bombs and fears that her parents wouldn’t come home that night.She’s told me stories about the armed guards that used to ride her bus on the way to school, and how they were told not to wear their uniforms so they wouldn’t be targeted.She vividly remembers the attack on the Japanese embassy in 1996 that left 17 people dead.Yesterday, as she was getting ready for school, she turned to me and said, “It feels the same today. In 2026, in the United States of America, it feels exactly like the era of terrorism I survived as a child.”As I scroll through my feed, I keep seeing people suggest that “we are at war.”We’re not at war. War requires an opposition group that’s fighting back to ensure the safety of the people.We’re being tortured by Republican domestic terrorists. They’ve formed a murderous gestapo that goes from town to town raping, abducting, and murdering people. The Republicans have manufactured this. It’s been a deliberate effort consisting of 50 years of media propaganda and censoring true history from schools.Even now as you go online you’re subjected to malicious bot attacks whenever you attempt to make the people recognize what’s being done to them.Contrary to what you’d assume, it takes a long time to recognize you’re being abused and exploited. You grow up caring for people. When those people begin to torture you, you’re inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. It’s only when your very survival comes into question that you start standing up for yourself.Last week, a completely innocent woman named Renee Nicole Good got shot three times in the face. Republicans are DEFENDING the action! They’re even bragging about it. They’re posturing and slapping cell phones out of people’s hands and acting like we have to comply with everything they say or they’ll just kill us.That’s domestic terrorism. The whole damn party is a domestic terrorist group. You should not trust a single Republican. They are all in on it. Even the ones who claim to be allies only engage in distraction to prevent a true progressive opposition movement from gaining momentum.For example, yesterday Adam Kinzinger made a post telling Democrats that they shouldn’t use the word “f**k.” Here is a person with a huge platform, and instead of using it to denounce domestic terrorism, he’s using it to censor free speech?This is the way saboteurs work. They pretend to be your friend and then they suck the wind out of your sails at critical moments. This is only the latest of troublesome posts by Kinzinger. He also called the attack on Venezuela a “good call” and he said the same thing about the bombing of Iran. Both of those were illegal attacks that murdered people. He’s fine with them.A lot of people say, “he lost his job for doing the right thing.” Well, so what? Renee Nicole Good lost her life for doing the right thing. We owe her memory a lot more than we owe any millionaire Republican who has enjoyed perks like universal healthcare that he refuses to fight to bring to the rest of us.He’s got a lifetime of action that hurt people. He voted against the John Lewis Voting Rights Restoration Act. If that had gotten passed, we wouldn’t be in this Republican era of domestic terrorism.I keep seeing a lot of overlap between my followers and Kinzinger’s. That bothers me when people are willing to be paid supporters of him, but not for me. Can’t you see that’s his whole purpose here? He’s an “old guard” voice trying to prevent the rise of a humanitarian movement by siphoning away liberal money. I’m a new voice who is actually willing to stand up and tell the truth. He carries the shame of a repugnant political career where he repeatedly worked to prevent the implementation of social benefit programs that would work for all of us.I’ve spent my life as a teacher, parent, and writer. I need your support a lot more than he does.The same thing is true for Cohen. Somebody got mad at me yesterday because I checked the button by his user name to see which newsletters he supported. I do this whenever I get troubling comments. Remember, I get death threats and insults all the time. Domestic terrorist Republicans tell me they’re going to rape my children and burn my house down with them in it. This is the kind of stuff they post publicly. Can you imagine what they post in their private chats? I’ve heard it’s a bunch of photos and other trophies from their “kills.” That’s why Renee Nicole Good’s murderer took a photo of the scene. They’re sociopaths. They’re coming to kill you.Meanwhile, Adam Kinzinger is sitting around telling us to not say “f**k” and people are criticizing me for having a problem with that?Wake the hell up people!You’ve got to look at the bigger picture. There is an enormous structure at work to maintain an oppressive government. There are saboteurs that pretend to be our friends who deliberately dismantle any action that might threaten their own power. Again, Kinzinger is a millionaire! Why would anyone choose to support him when they can’t afford to support me?Friends, I want you to do something for me. The next time you are alone, I want you to say the words. Go out into the woods and scream it.“WE ARE BEING MURDERED BY REPUBLICAN DOMESTIC TERRORISTS!”Scream it over and over and over until the programming gets into your mind and you realize what we’re up against. Once you see it, it can’t be unseen. It’s the only thing that makes sense.The reason you’re all so frustrated and confused and scared is because you keep trying to find ways to rationalize what’s going on. It would be easier if Kinzinger and Schumer and Jefferies were actually on our side. THEY’RE NOT.Wishing things to be “easier” is not going to get it done. First, you have to develop the willpower to shut down these millionaire, Republican jerks who are totally fine with Republican domestic terrorism. Stop acting like you owe them something. You don’t owe them a damn thing! They’re trying to kill you. Wake up!If Kinzinger is sincere, he can continue to battle without any sponsorship. Send your support to people who are actually doing the work. Start awakening your friends and neighbors to the fact that the Republicans have created a domestic terrorism squad that’s raping and murdering and torturing people. It’s also funded by YOUR taxpayer dollars.Stop saying we’re in a war. We’re not in a war because we’re not fighting back. All we are right now are the future victims of Republican domestic terrorist assassins.The good news is that we can win this conflict without violence. They want us scared. They want us oblivious. They want us to think that we don’t have any power. But there are so many more of us than them. All we have to do is lock arms and stand together united in purpose and make the domestic terrorists realize that the consequences don’t end when the trigger is pulled. That’s when the consequences begin.Republican domestic terrorists live among us. They have houses. They use our roads. They get groceries. They sleep at night. They’ll get old and infirm. They think they’re tough, but they’re the embodiment of weakness and THEY WILL FACE ACCOUNTABILTY.All we have to do to succeed is see the truth and encourage our neighbors to see the truth and stand in united purpose. I promise you, once you flip the switch in your mind and you recognize what’s happening, you’ll feel better. The reality of what we’re enduring is horrific. But once you know the enemy, you are empowered to respond. We will answer their murderous hatred with compassion. We’ll work together and demand a better future for our kids, the kind of future that Kinzinger and every other Republican has tried to steal from us. We’ll finally be able to demand the government we deserve because we’ll refuse to be manipulated by Republican deceits.Republicans have enabled an era of domestic terrorism.Do not listen to them. Do not negotiate with them. Do not support any of them.Instead, find the courage to demand a society that’s based on basic decency and respect for human rights.
