We're on Team Monica
from Already Saturday Hosted by Already Saturday
This week on Already Saturday: We discuss Impeachment: American Crime Story, the FX drama series about the Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton scandal. We talk about that weird, dark time in American culture—pre-mobile and social media, post 24/7 news cycles—and bemoan how brutally Monica was treated by all involved. We break down her evil best friend Linda Tripp (and Sarah Paulson's performance of her), and laugh at the very-90s idea of chatting on the phone. We're on Team Monica. In this episode we reference this Samantha Selinger-Morris article about Lewinsky; a 2018 Vanity Fair piece Lewinsky wrote; and The Hollywood Reporter cover story about 'Impeachment'. Already Saturday is an independent podcast hosted by Sydney-based journalists Phoebe Loomes and Nathan Jolly.
