Legend has it that the song began as a joke by Phil Everly (The Everly Brothers). After seeing the film Werewolf in London (1935) on TV, Phil suggested to Zevon that he use the title and create a song and dance craze. Two years later, he did. Mick Fleetwood is on drums and Jon McVie’s on bass.
