The flame was lit young for Wes, being known as the wine guy around university campus due to his access to his father’s wine cellar, from which all his friends benefited. It looks like Wes was always destined for greatness, and after one thing led to another he was voted as one of the most influential wine makers in the US, in addition to being responsible for writing the AVA’s that establish the Santa Barbara wine district. Despite being a rockstar winemaker, Wes’s greater passion lies in sharing his own love of wine with the world – and it is with that background that I sat down and spoke with Wes for over an hour - the experience was scintillating. He is the ultimate storyteller, educator, and raconteur. We covered everything from the history of wine to what makes Burgundy so special and just about everything in between.
