James Picard: artistic genius. That’s probably what his Twitter bio should read. Delving into the depths of the human mind and into the realms of emotional turmoil, his artistic outputs are nothing short of amazing. With paintings that span a myriad of styles, and frequently working on several (sometimes twenty!) paintings at the same time, he is nothing short of an art machine (I mean that in a good way). Needless to say, our interview with Mr. Picard was absolutely fascinating, as well as extremely humbling. His ability far surpasses mere artistic skill – in fact, it seems that he genuinely has the capacity to channel the energies and emotions of his surroundings (or portrait sitters) and process them into something material.
