West Virginia Eyes Scoring Guard Tyndale | Big 12 Basketball News

West Virginia is heating up the 2027 recruiting race with a bold play for guard Javion Tyndale — a top-50 prospect listed at just 5’9” and 160 lbs. Despite his size, Tyndale’s explosive scoring (averaging 22 PPG in Nike EYBL) has caught the eye of WVU, who see potential in his game and are confident he could add height. Assistant coach Ross Hodge, known for developing smaller guards like cousin Miles Sadler, believes Tyndale’s skill set fits perfectly — especially since WVU already compensates for lack of backcourt length with depth elsewhere. With Tyndale down to six schools and WVU firmly in the mix, this could be a major win for the Mountaineers — proving they’re seeing talent where others hesitate.
