West Virginia Football & Basketball Outlook | West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball News

West Virginia football’s ceiling hinges on cornerback play and the offensive line’s ability to provide consistent push—failure there could lock them into a six-win season. Meanwhile, the basketball team is targeting a 20+ win campaign, with non-conference wins against Power Four foes as key; while a Big 12 title seems out of reach this year, the young roster is primed for future success—and Coach Hodge’s job is safe. On the gridiron, true freshman Kevin Brown may start at left tackle, signaling high confidence, while redshirt freshman Cam Torbor could also crack the starting lineup. In legal news, a ruling on the Lorient-Buchanan case is imminent, with NCAA history suggesting they’ll likely lose again. For those hoping for fifth-year eligibility, only Brenen Lorient and Javan Buchanan are returning to football—roster spots are tight.
