After a double-overtime thriller in Game 1 that saw San Antonio being victorious, Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals saw Oklahoma City bouncing back with a 122 to 113 victory. The Thunder’s leading scorer was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 30 points. The frontcourt of Oklahoma City stepped up with center Isaiah Hartenstein getting a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds and forward Chet Holmgren scoring 13 points. Oklahoma City also saw contributions from Alex Caruso as he scored 17 points, Jared McCain scored 12 points, and Ajay Mitchell scored 10 points. Injuries served as one of the storylines of Game 2. In the first quarter, Thunder forward Jalen Williams experienced hamstring tightness. Williams went to the locker room and was ruled out for the rest of the game, finishing with only four points. Williams’ replacement Cason Wallace started the second half where he finished with 12 points. As for the Spurs, late in the third quarter guard Dylan Harper would leave the game with a right hamstring injury. Harper suffered the injury when he fell to the ground while attempting a layup causing him to grab his hamstring. He would finish the game with 12 points. In a losing effort, Spurs center Victor Wembanyama had a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Devin Vassell scored 22 points, while Stephon Castle finished with 25 points and Keldon Johnson had 10 points. Another storyline in Game 2 was turnovers with San Antonio having 21.
