Western Journalists Expelled from Russia Reflect on Departure

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, a small fraction of independent foreign journalists in Russia have stayed there to continue reporting on what is happening on the ground. Faced with both administrative difficulties and editorial pressure,  their work becomes more dangerous every day, especially after the arrest of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.This year, Russia has refused to extend the visas and press accreditations of several foreign journalists, leaving them no choice but to depart the country. Among them are this week's guests: Dutch journalist and former Moscow Times editor-in-chief Eva Hartog and Finnish journalist Anna-Lena Lauren, who also works for Swedish media.
