Western Michigan Ends Appeal After Hail Mary Drama | Michigan Wolverines Football News

Western Michigan has officially dropped the appeal on their controversial loss to Michigan, with president Russ Kavalhuna confirming no grounds for challenge after a wild final play. With one second left, officials added back time — giving Michigan a chance to throw a game-winning Hail Mary. Coach Lance Taylor insists they can’t blame refs and must focus on improvement, especially since Michigan reportedly paid them $1.5 million for the game. The Big Ten defended the call, citing NCAA rules and noting a Western Michigan player touched the ball out of bounds. Despite the confirmation, the loss stings — Michigan heads to Oklahoma, while Western Michigan looks to rebound against Monmouth.
