Westgate Farm / A working Norfolk farm, two safari tents, and a steam train through the meadow
from Curated Spaces
Close to the village of Walsingham in North Norfolk, six miles from the coast, Westgate Farm is a 350-acre arable farm on the historic Walsingham Estate. It grows barley, wheat and, come August, a field of pick-your-own sunflowers. A miniature steam train on the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway runs right through the land. In a wildflower meadow at its heart sit two safari tents, Owl's Nest and Foxley Lodge, kitted out to a standard that outdoes most hotels. In today's episode, Molly sits down with Sophie Ollerenshaw, who came from a London marketing background and now shapes the guest side of a real working farm run by her partner Michael, the second generation of his family to manage it. From environmental stewardship and hedgerow management to home-cooked welcome hampers and the rhythm of the seasons, this is a conversation about diversifying a family farm thoughtfully and letting guests share in the life of the land rather than just visit it.Head to Curated, the world's first travel platform powered by tastemakers with soul, style and story at its heart to discover and book a collection of soulful stays curated by tastemakers you trust https://curatedspaces.club/Curated Spaces is the podcast on a mission to reignite real world connection.
