from Pittsburgh All Local

Westinghouse is planning to build ten large nuclear reactors in the US with construction starting by 2030. Westinghouse Interim CEO Dan Sumner laid out the plan to President Trump during a conference on energy and artificial intelligence at Carnegie Mellon University. Westinghouse’s AP1000 reactor generates enough electricity to power more than 750,000 homes. Only two nuclear reactors have been built in the US in the past 30 years, both in Georgia. Where the ten reactors will be built is unknown.
