When the native American tribes first encountered european settlers they for the most part , received them with curiosity and intrigue , unaware of the abuses that were to follow … But something that did become apparent to these tribes early on , was that the lighter skinned “civilised “settlers had a very different way about them . Observable in their behaviour and actions was a selfish disregard for eachother and the desire to possess nature and its resources as there own . Its said that the natives called this condition wetiko , and it meant an evil spirit had possession of the minds of men polluting their spirits , a condition we might call today a mind virus , They didn’t use such a metaphor but many other well regarded thinkers writers philosopher’s and practitioners have entertained similar concepts that suggest mankind may in fact be under some kind of spell Is this the case , do you feel as if your in control or could you be asleep behind the wheel
