We've Got The Feels For the Flyers And Sixers! (PST Episode 573)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

Tons of great news have been in our feeds about the Philadelphia Flyers after the NHL Draft and now with Matvei Michkov being officially signed to the team. The Flyers’ rebuild is certainly continuing to take shape in a positive way. This week, Ryan Quigley from BroadStreetHockey.com joined for a great discussion about what we’ve seen seeing the Flyers and how this philosophical rebuild is going. But first, we talked about the frenzy within the Sixers as the draft and free agency are now helping to build this team as we look towards the new season. Paul George is now in Philly. Tyrese Maxey has a max contract, and more pieces have been added. (approx. 5:10)We then gave our thoughts on how the Sixers and other teams look within the NBA Eastern Conference.. (approx. 15:20)From there, we gave our thoughts about how disappointing this Philadelphia Union season has been as this team is now on an 8 game winless streak. (approx. 21:35)Then we dove into a discussion about Philly sports broadcaster Howard Eskin’s unacceptable sexual advances on a female at Citizens Bank Park, some Listener Feedback about the catcher position in baseball, and overall what we’ve seen from the Phillies as of late. (approx. 30:00)From there, we gave some quick thoughts about the Flyers draft and how this team is coming together. (approx. 45:35)What we threw down on the Table this week was a fantastic discussion and interview with Ryan Quigley from Broad Street Hockey about how the Flyers are positioning themselves for the future. Was Jett Luchanko the right pick in the first-round of the recent draft? Talent drafted that could make a nice impact in the years to come. The excitement and expectations of Michkov’s future presence in Philly. Plus much more within this discussion!
