The Giles County Sheriff’s Office says a 14-year-old is dead after a shooting at a home on Friday. Three people were injured during a shooting at Status Restaurant & Lounge located at the intersection of Williamson Rd and Kirk Ave in downtown Roanoke. A bill progressing in the General Assembly would make it illegal to buy a gun without a permit. Gun rights groups say that violates the constitution. A Blacksburg non-profit recently announced they have helped abolish medical debt owed by some residents in Southwest Virginia. A small commuter plane operated by Southern Airways Express that had just taken off from Washington Dulles Airport had to land on a nearby roadway in Loudon County around 1-pm Friday.
