Some young people are calling on Roanoke City leaders to rethink plans to develop land in the Evans Spring area. Court documents indicate the deaths of 57-year-old Anthony Sweeney and 53-year-old Nikki Sweeney at a home in Roanoke County this past Wednesday were likely the result of a murder-suicide. Area gun rights activists are suing Roanoke City claiming a city gun law risks their safety. The RAM House has reached the halfway mark to its goal of more than 4 million dollars. The Fincastle Fire Department says a large brush fire in the 11 thousand block of Craig Creek Road was brought under control.
