What are the beliefs and principles upon which we base our life? This is the true content of our faith. These are our convictions. Some of us mistakenly assure ourselves that money, power, and status will keep us safe and bring us wellbeing and deliverance. The citizens of the kingdoms of this world misplace their faith in these. But the psalmist reminds us: A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save. (Psalm 33:16-17)Citizens of the kingdom of God trust in the steadfast love of God to be our hope and shield. Our most fervent prayer is that God’s unwavering love be upon us at all times.
