Ellis is a visual artist based in Chicago, with global experience, in the implementation and development of various curriculum and instruction methods utilizing the arts. She is currently involved in a project in conjunction with Onli Studios that provides workshops based on the utilization of graphic novels for classroom instruction. Graphic novels are not only a tool for art based approaches to learning, in the case of the Black Age of Comics, which was launched in Bronzeville, they also serve as a medium for transmitting positive diverse cultural messages.
