What Can We Learn from Israel's Response to Coronavirus
from Dr. Carole's Couch · host Dr. Carole Lieberman
Israel has taken strong steps to get ahead of the Coronavirus and has had only 308 deaths (1%) from Covid at this time-while NY has had over 20,000 deaths! Today's guest, David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, and founder of Shiloh Israel's Children's Fund, gives us insights into their successful methods of containing this pandemic. From shutting the borders immediately to putting Covid positive people in Coronavirus Hotels to keeping elders safe to lockdowns, masks and social distancing, Israelis have come together to protect each other. They also endorsed (temporarily) a controversial method: tracking coronavirus positive people by technology usually reserved for tracking terrorists. Nonetheless, their swift and effective methods, and a citizenry used to coming together in the face of crises (terror attacks), worked to make their death toll a model for other countries to aspire to. Hear what the U.S. and the rest of the world can learn from them.
