What Do You Miss?

Send us Fan MailI often share how much I love my age. Fortunately, I'm quite healthy, which helps a lot. But there are some wonderful things about growing older. One of those things is that the older we get, the larger our treasure chest of memories becomes. We have lived through a lot of times and experiences. With age, it's possible to take a ride through those memories in awe that we were able to do and experience what we did, who we became, and sometimes in loneliness for who or what we miss, or sadness for who is no longer in our lives. But we can only re-experience by sifting through the things stored in that treasure chest of memory.For example, everytime I see or hear an ambulance, I am transported to those meaningful years serving as an EMT on our ambulance service in Forest City. I am astounded that I was able to learn all I did and experience that kind of service. And though I know because of life changes, I can no longer do that kind of work, I miss it. I miss it a lot. Remembering is fun, hard, and sometimes wistful. Thanks for listening!
