In the fall of 2019, Jonathan released his book “Over The Top,” where he disclosed his HIV positive status. The occasion prompted Dr. Watkins-Hayes to write an op-ed on the subject in the NY Times, and inspired the two of them to get together to discuss issues they are both passionate about. Dr. Celeste Watkins-Hayes is a Professor of Sociology and African American Studies and Faculty Fellow at Northwestern University.
