What does Jesus teach us about faith in Matthew, Chapters 8 and 9?

In Matthew 8, Jesus delivers some of His most powerful lessons on the meaning and power of faith. In the hierarchy of redemption, faith precedes all else. It comes before repentance and most certainly before obedience; indeed, it is the mechanism by which repentance occurs and good works issue from us. Good works don’t produce salvation; that comes only from faith in Jesus Christ, the resurrected son of The Most High.
