What Does the Bible Say About Hating the Wicked?

Jesus calls us to hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans — but should we hate the Nicolaitans themselves? God claims to hate and abhor sinners in some places, and He gives us imprecatory psalms which invoke curses upon them.
