Our newest season is here! We open Contested Philippine Histories with a historical problem that made the news rounds recently: The Battle of Mactan. Was LapuLapu a Tausug from the "Eastern Kingdom of Sulu"? Did he fight off invaders because of freedom? Was he the middle-aged and muscular warrior in the popular imagination?
