What Happened to Dorothy Kilgallen?

Send us Fan MailJournalist, radio personality, and socialite Dorothy Kilgallen was found dead in her apartment in New York City on November 8, 1965. She was found sitting up in bed, fully dressed and made up. Her official cause of death was an overdose of barbiturates combined with alcohol. But alcohol and barbiturates cannot explain why Dorothy’s notes on the single most famous case she had ever investigated were missing–and why, two days later, a friend to whom she had given a draft of a chapter exploring theories of this case was also found dead under mysterious circumstances.
