What has God told you?

There is a story in the bible that tells the story of a young prophet who was sent by God to go and give a word to a king but he was told to give the word and leave not even to have anything to eat i think he was even told not to even travel back the same way he came. He was offered food and he refused it. I think by the king . But here came the old prophet who invited him to come to his house for food and he said yes when he should have said no and died the old prophet buried him . I asked myself why didn't God tell the old prophet to give the word to the king. And why when the young prophet told the old prophet what God had told him why would he still offer him food. Which meant going against God's word. We have to be careful who we listen to and always remember what God told us because no other word can replace him.
