What I wish we were taught in sex ed

Growing up in the South, so much of my experience around puberty, sexuality, and relationships was rooted in shame, fear, and abstinence-only messaging, and I’m unpacking how that shaped my body image, beliefs about pleasure, and understanding of STIs, consent, and self-worth. We talk about real anatomy (yes, including the clitoris), why pleasure doesn’t cancel out self-respect, how consent can change at any time, and why your sexual choices have nothing to do with your morality.
