Is it time for you or me to turn back? Here's another perspective from Albern Stein. Success is often the result of taking a misstep in the right direction. A misstep in the right direction.
How many people am I working with today whose greatest contributions to the corporate clients that they serve, at least through the projects that we have with them and the needy communities around them, through our NGO call to rescue? How many of these consultants, these trainers, as speakers, are blessing others by sharing their testimonies of the curses in their lives that they were able to turn around, that they were able to overcome? This wrong road can be your platform for helping and healing others who might be in that situation. When you have turned around, if you know you're in the wrong direction or a sense of it, then congratulations.
At least you're aware. When people tell me, Anthony, you know, I'm so frustrated. I'm struggling between balancing my time for my work, my family. Now you're telling me that I got to do things for myself.
It is a major struggle. And my response to them, they don't anticipate, they don't expect. I say, congratulations. The fact that you're struggling because I'd be worried and you should be too, when you're no longer struggling because a struggle means you have taken up the fight and you will not give up without a fight.
What if I'm too far down the road? Focus on what you can't control. And perhaps if you contributed to that direction, there must be something that needs or a couple of things that need to be given up. See, when I redirect, I realize that it's not just always about wanting to gain something, right?
It's often having to give up certain things which eventually I consider a gain. I am in this process of making a final decision. I should be soon if I'm going to run a marathon on my next birthday, which is a couple of months from now. So that's quite soon, right?
And if I do decide to pursue that direction, it's not so much what I have to give, but what I have to give up. Trust me, the extra time on social media, certain projects that are not creating as much value, a time with friends, unfortunately, that I would have to further limit so that I can prepare for this marathon. Let it not be always an Issue what you have to do, but what you have to stop doing. Jimmy Dean.
I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination. So regardless of your situation, if there are many things you can't control, then focus on what you can. And in this case, it's not the wind, but the sails that you can alter. I must have shared this in another podcast about this young boy whom we had pulled out along with others in Davao City to do community work.

On the way back to the detention center, the rehabilitation center, he said, sir Anthony, Just for today, I realize that I can still give back. I've taken so much away from my community. But today you allowed us to give back. I didn't realize that I could still make a contribution.
Wow. It's never too late, my friend, no matter how far down the wrong road. Anthony, you're talking to a 15 year old. I'm 50 or beyond.
You know what immediately comes to my mind? The thief on the cross with Jesus. The moment he acknowledged the need to turn around by accepting what he had done towards others, towards the community that he was part of, perhaps his family. The God whom somehow he still believed existed when he acknowledged his what we call sin.
What was the very first thing Jesus said today? You shall be with me in paradise. It wasn't like, okay, I'm going to give you a chance to make up for it. Live a good life for a couple of years.
Okay, then maybe, just maybe, I'll be there to welcome you when it's your time. With no condition, full mercy and grace to one who was willing to humble himself and immediate turnaround from the wrong road, not just to the right, but to heaven itself.
