What if my break is a breakdown? This is the daily service podcast with Anthony Isaiah, 40 29. He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might, he increases strength. Coming home from Brussels early on, as a young student leader, taking a break for a week or two as if it was Christmas time, I did not want to leave my bed or my parents bed.

I must have slept for an entire week. As I was working up to that time, six months straight in the international headquarters of that organization, I was working with, traveling almost every other week to some part of the world. That two week break, one week of sleep, prepared me for the next few months which culminated in the International Congress with 64 countries and over 700 delegates. 700 leaders from the 64 countries had participated under our leadership.

And that was even a more difficult couple of months compared to the first six months before my first break that I had to take a complete step back from the organization. I must have been paralyzed. I froze for a number of days. Given the challenges that I had faced, engaging in argumentation and debate with the leaders on the future of our organization, it wasn't just a break for me after the conference, it was a breakdown.

You know, just thinking about all I had dreamed about, you know, the kind of people I had worked with, the values that we supposedly lived by and espoused. In that conference, I saw the reality of abuse, of discrimination, of hate. And it was during that break or breakdown that I experienced massive disillusionment. And that was good.

An illusion isn't right. Right. Disillusionment means breaking through from the illusion and seeing reality for what really is. From the break to a breakdown, then a breakthrough.

See, those days, I think I was just fishing and camping, sleeping were all I needed to survive and recover from. Hiral Nagda and I quote, sometimes doing nothing makes way for everything. For some, a break actually leads to a realization that it isn't just a temporary parting that is needed, but an actual cutting of ties. Maybe it isn't just a break for a day, but you need to break away and walk away.

I remember some years back, taking some time off to reflect on the business I was part of. Upon reflection, upon digging deep into my unconscious, I realized it was true. I was in a business with at least one other member of the board with whom I had irreconcilable differences and I had to accept it, I had to surrender to it, but also to the conclusion that I could not continue with it. I decided during that break to permanently walk away and sold my shares to the rest of the owners.

Matthew 11:28 30 Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. That's a break. Take my yoke and put it on. You see, it's a new direction.

It's a new burden. And learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will find. Here we go again.

Rest, rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy and the load I will put on you is light. We had a good run in that business. We did.

Great business, in fact. But clearly it was no longer value adding to all of us for me to stay and yep, no longer fun. So what if my break is a breakdown? Let it take its full course, my friend.

As Oswald Chambers reminds us often, God will wreck a life before he saves it. So go through the process. John McNeill, come close to him. He said he may take you today up into the mountaintop for where he took Peter with his blundering and James and John, those sons of thunder who again and again so utterly misunderstood the master and his mission.

There is no reason why he should not take you. So don't shut yourself out of it and say, ah. These wonderful visions and revelations of the Lord are for choice spirits. They may be for you.

From a brick to a breakdown to a divinely appointed breakthrough just for you.
