I wade into the discussion about granting extensions, situating it in the broader discussion about academic workloads and mental health. I discuss what might be kind to the students, what might be kind to yourself, and propose a process for requesting extensions you could use or adapt. I also talk about the limits of granting extensions to address the things you and your students might be facing.
