What is a common result when a person has PTSD on We Deserve Better

from Z Z Archive 2016 · host Brain Injury Radio

Dale Pierce is currently an advocate for veterans and firefighters. He was formerly a firefighter himself. He is also the father of one of our soldiers who joined the Iraq war 2 days after 9-11. After 2 tours in Iraq, his son was discharged to return home. This was after an IED expolded nearby impacting several soldiers in the vicinity. This was added to the trauma of his daily activities. These duties included going door-to-door, shooting the men and boys who lived in the houses. Upon his return, he found that no one could relate to him, so he took his own life a year later. While in Iraq, and upon his return, he used to write poetry. Dale will share some of that writing with us.
